Damn rotten ETS. Next to no use for the environment. Seems to me to be just another form of taxation by stealth that will be innocuous at first. Once it is accepted in the market place they will gradually tighten the screws on it till it really starts bringing home the bacon. We'll be promised at first that low and middle income Australians won’t be any worse off. Don't be fooled.

Much like land tax in NSW. It was initially brought in to hit the top end of town & not mum and dad average investors. 15 plus years later & guess who's paying the tax. That's right, average mum and dad investors and renters (through higher rents to cover this added cost to owning investment properties).
