2008 was certainly a tumultuous year, with the global economy going from bad to worse to…well better or worse again depending on who you speak to.

Now that 2009 is upon us, it’s always good to look back at the year that was and for those of you who may have missed a lot of the going on’s here at Lending Central, we count-down the top 5 articles of the year…as discussed by you!

Number 5:

GE Money closes it’s doors. In our number five spot was the announcment that GE money was closing.  This certainly bought about a lot of mixed emotions from most readers and it’s certainly worth another look. Click here to read it.

Number 4:

When will the credit crisis end? Have your say. This one is certainly worth another look at reading.  With this question having been asked 6 months ago, it’s interesting to read the comments of our readers and take a look back at the past.  Click here to read it.

Number 3:

Who can help Lisa? Our number 3 spot for last year is filled with the rallying of our brokers and lenders all trying to help out a reader by the name of Lisa.  It’s certainly great to see the amount of people able to help out and while we haven’t heard anything back from Lisa, we certainly hope that someone was able to help her! The interest rate cut list. Number 2 last year was our list of lenders that were passing on the december rate cut.  Not suprisingly, this was fairly popular but more interesting to read were some very interesting predictions from our reader Louis and comments from Ali Taha.  Click here to read it.

GE Money unable to pass on rate cut. Our number 1 talked about article of 2008 was the fact that GE Money were not going to be passing on the October rate cut.  This was written a mere week before the announcement that GE had “closed up” shop.  This is worth looking at just to see some fantastic thoughts from a lot of our readers.  Click here to read it.

Figure Out Why You Don’t Stop Smoking Now

You may have heard the saying that the head trace in solving a pretty pickle is admitting you be subjected to one. As cliché as the phrasing has change, it is undeniably true. You set up to human being faulty why you smoke in order to get rid of those reasons and restore them with reasons why you should not smoke.

Stop Smoking Immediately

It is easier to quit smoking if you do it with a team of people who are struggling at the same time. You can put each other in line and propose recommendations and support via the tough times. There are various online resources on quitting in groups, and your town medical centre may have meetings as well.

Throw Out Smoking Related Stuff

Conceivably the outset measure in quitting smoking is to go by rid of all tobacco products, lighters, matches, ashtrays, and anything that smells strongly of smoke and can’t be washed. You are less likely to start smoking again if there is nothing that reminds you of it lying around.
