Australia’s largest independent mortgage broker, Loan Market Group, is running a series of seminars nationwide to assist first home buyers.

Loan Market Group Chief Executive Jennifer Nielsen said the first of the seminars will be held at Broncos Leagues Club at Red Hill in Brisbane on Wednesday, December 3, in conjunction with Ray White Real Estate, PS Conveyancing Connection and QC’s Building and Pest Inspections.

A second seminar will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at the Everton Park Hotel in Brisbane’s north-west and there are plans to stage them around Australia.

Ms Nielsen said the seminars would include advice for first home buyers on obtaining housing finance and detail benefits from recent changes in Government concessions, such as the doubling of the First Home Buyers Grant from $7,000 to $14,000.

Those attending will hear from a variety of experts including mortgage brokers, real estate agents, auctioneers, conveyancing solicitors and building inspectors.

“They will get a comprehensive guide to the current state of the property market and what you need to do to purchase your first home with the least amount of stress,” Ms Nielsen said.

Ms Nielsen said the increase in the grant and the provision of $21,000 for first home buyers purchasing newly constructed homes had reinvigorated interest at the lower to middle end of the property market.

“Conditions are a lot more favourable for those wanting to enter the property market with concessions improved and home mortgage rates on the way down,” she said.

Ms Nielsen said Loan Market Group had been inundated with inquiries across Australia from first home buyers since the Federal Government announced the doubling of the grant in mid-October and that was the impetus to start the seminars.

“In Queensland, the State Government‘s recent removal of stamp duty on properties worth up to $500,000 has also stirred up a lot of people to look at buying property,” she said.

Both the Broncos Leagues Club and Everton Park Hotel seminars are free and will run from 6.30pm-7.30pm.
