New aggregator to drive The Mortgage Gallery expansion
The Mortgage Gallery announced that its NSW/ACT franchise operation will now operate its own mortgage broking franchise under the control of current master franchisee Susan Tyers.
Under the new arrangement with The Mortgage Gallery, a licence agreement will grant the NSW/ACT business the use of the full style, branding and marketing programs of the company.
The day-to-day operations for existing NSW/ACT franchisees will not change.
Ms Tyers will continue to work closely in the development of current NSW/ACT franchise businesses while growing the network through ongoing recruitment of franchised-based mortgage brokers.
The Mortgage Gallery’s chairman John Bignell said the move follows an approach he had from Ms Tyers to develop her own business.
“We have worked closely together now for five years,” said Mr Bignell. “Susan’s commitment to the brand is very strong and we believe the new agreement will help her expand the good business foundation that she has developed thus far.”
Ms Tyers reinforced her commitment to driving the expansion of The Mortgage Gallery in NSW/ACT, pointing to opportunities currently presented by a changing mortgage landscape as well as the evolving needs of Australian borrowers.
“As property markets have become more unpredictable and rates have risen, borrowers increasingly recognise the need for professional advice on their finances - the broker’s service proposition has never been stronger,” said Ms Tyers.
“The Mortgage Gallery brand has become synonymous with credibility and service - and during this period of uncertainty for some borrowers the security that a solid, well recognised brand offers will see our business grow from strength to strength.”
“I’m excited at the prospect to continue The Mortgage Gallery’s expansion in NSW/ ACT.”
The transition will see The Mortgage Gallery in NSW/ACT operate through leading brokerage group National Mortgage Brokers (nMB).
The Mortgage Gallery and nMB have a long, established relationship that spans seven years.
“As well as a shared directorship, the groups have the same robust approach to member development and a focus to help brokers build sustainable diversified businesses. The business style and ethics of the two companies are very much aligned,” said Mr Bignell.
nMB is one of the aggregation sector’s strongest performers with the group building a member base of around 250 brokers.
Managing director Gerald Foley sees the new relationship with The Mortgage Gallery NSW/ACT as one that will strengthen both groups.
“We’ve got a solid relationship with The Mortgage Gallery and I look forward to working closely with Susan,” said Mr Foley.
“Susan has a strong and established operation in NSW/ACT with good processes and efficiencies, and I see our role moving forward as providing the engine room for Susan to continue to focus on what she does best - growing The Mortgage Gallery brand in NSW/ACT.”
While the mortgage market is no doubt in a state of flux, the future for The Mortgage Gallery is bright said Mr Bignell.
“I’m confident in our position to continue our growth. We’ve worked hard to establish a diversified brokerage that empowers franchisees to develop their own individual operations.”
“The NSW/ACT presence will continue to grow; our business operation in Victoria under state manager Rick Spinks has also seen significant development in the last 12 months. Further expansion of the WA network is also planned,” he said.
